The yellow turban rebellion, started by peasants all over the Han Dynasty, has finally ended. It began in 184 AD when the Zhang brothers started a rebellion against the Chinese government. The brothers gathered over-worked peasants to be a part of their revolt. The rebels wore yellow turbans or scarves around their heads, this then named their rebellion, The Yellow Turban Rebellion. At the time of the rebellion, the Han Dynasty's government was weakening and peasants were being over worked and heavily taxed. Due to the taxes, people were suffering from starvation and poverty all across the dynasty. The Zhang brothers were strong Taoism believers and wanted the people of the Han Dynasty to follow a Taoist lifestyle. With all the trouble in the Dynasty's government, the three brother found their chance to plan the revolt. They started by making alliances within the emperors court itself. The rebellion begin right under Emperor Ling's rule without anyone knowing. The three brothers were very successful in their revolt and even began to take over the government of the Han Dynasty. Luckily for the Dynasty, the brothers' actions were put to a stop when the Zhang brothers were killed and the revolt was put to an end.
